Difference between CNC lathe and CNC machining center

Definition of CNC lathe:

CNC lathe is a kind of automatic machine tool with high precision and high efficiency. Equipped with multi station turret or power turret, the machine tool has a wide range of  cnc machining performance. It can process linear cylinder, oblique cylinder, arc, various thread, groove, worm and other complex workpieces. It has various compensation functions of linear interpolation and arc interpolation, and has played a good economic effect in the batch production of complex parts.

Compared with ordinary machine tools, CNC machine tools have the following characteristics:

High machining accuracy and stable machining quality;

It can carry out multi coordinate linkage and process complex parts;

When the machining parts are changed, generally only the NC program needs to be changed, which can save the production preparation time;

The machine tool itself has high precision and high rigidity, and can select favorable processing amount, with high productivity (generally 3-5 times of that of ordinary machine tool);

High degree of automation of machine tool can reduce labor intensity;

Higher requirements for the quality of operators and higher technical requirements for maintenance personnel.

CNC machining center is composed of mechanical equipment and CNC system, which is suitable for processing complex parts. Its comprehensive processing ability is strong, and the workpiece can complete more processing content after one clamping.

CNC lathes are suitable for machining shaft parts, CNC machining centers are suitable for adding box parts with complex geometry, and of course, there are only two axes and two linkage for several lathes, while CNC machining centers have at least three axes!
